A century of character. A new chapter waiting to be written. Built in 1900, this historic Franklin farmhouse pairs original craftsmanship with thoughtful updates, just a five-minute walk from Pinkerton Park and a little over half a mile from Franklin’s historic downtown square. An ideal location for those who enjoy an active lifestyle or simply want to be part of the bustling downtown Franklin community.
Enjoy the beauty and historic elements of this home, including transom windows, two covered porches, original hardwood floors, shiplap walls, spacious bedrooms and soaring ceilings. A wood-burning stove adds warmth and efficiency to the living room, while a second original fireplace adds historic character. Originally a two-bedroom home, a nearly 1,000-square-foot addition brought a primary suite, upstairs bedroom and bonus room.
Towering mature trees shade the fully fenced yard. Wonderful longtime neighbors on both sides add to the sense of community. A paved driveway, extra parking pad and two-car garage add everyday convenience.
The property also includes a fully approved, 750-square-foot detached accessory dwelling unit (ADU) above the garage, complete with a loft and bathroom, not reflected in the home’s listed square footage. Current owners have successfully operated it as an Airbnb for the past seven years, generating over $20,000 in annual profit. This versatile space could also serve as a studio, home office, living space for adult children or additional accommodations for guests.
A hidden trapdoor provides access to a root cellar for storage or to seek shelter during severe weather. Set on elevated ground outside the FEMA 100-year floodplain, the home does not require flood insurance; written confirmation from the City of Franklin is available.
Thoughtfully updated and cared for, this has been a wonderful family home. Now it’s ready for someone else to make it their own.
